Dirt Cake

Spring is here!! I just wish it wasn’t so cold still. The kids requested dirt cake. Perfect for spring, family time, and dreaming of warmer tomorrows. Ingredients 5.9oz Instant Chocolate Pudding 2 Cups Milk 16 Oreos 8oz Cool Whip 8oz Gummy Worms   Directions Separate Oreo cream into a large bowl and cookie ends into a smaller bowl (or Ziploc bag depending on preferred method for crushing). Crumble cream between fingers, and crush cookies with the back of a spoon (or rolling pin in bag). Add milk, then pudding mix, to bowl with the cream. Stir until well blended for 2 minutes. Mix in Cool Whip until just blended. Spread out pudding mixture in 9×13 pan. Cover with crushed Oreo cookies. Place gummy worms in dirt. Alternatively, for individual servings, layer the pudding and Oreo in small clear cups. Add a surprise worm at the bottom of the cup to start. I always do the individual cups with the kids, so they can each make their own. We made 10-...

Holiday Chex Mix

Something us Marine wives would do when their husbands were deployed was have monthly get togethers. One of the get togethers near Christmas the theme was desserts. Everyone brought one to share and the recipe to go with it. I don't even remember what I brought, but the hostess made this recipe and I use it every holiday season. It makes a great lighter dessert, or even something to snack on as the festivities are happening. The kids love it too! 2 Cups- Regular Cheerios 2 Cups- Rice Chex 1 Cup- Peanuts 2 Cups- Pretzel Sticks 10oz Bag- Holiday M&M 24oz- Almond Bark Mix all ingredients, expect almond bark, in a large bowl. In a separate bowl melt almond bark according to package. When melted, pour almond bark onto other ingredients, mixing with a spatula as you go. Spread mix in a thin and scattered layer onto wax paper. Allow to cool completely. Break into small pieces and store in the refrigerator.
